Fellow laborers in Christ
Passionate about knowing Christ and making Him known
I am Tena Thomas, Master of Divinity in Pastoral Counseling. I have a great relationship with all of my professors. I've had many medical issues, and they make special effort in order that I might be able to keep up with my classmates. My professors are spending time with me in order that I might be able to graduate. For instance, Dr. Schiffman always made special effort to actually ask me how my health was before every class, then talk with me about different issues for class.
My name is Shirl Schiffman. I'm a professor of Ministry Studies in the Seminary and School of Ministry here at CIU. So the Lord sends us these amazing people. But I'm just going to pick on one person, and that's my amazing sister in Christ Tena Thomas, an amazing woman of God. I know so much about her. We had several classes together. We went on a retreat together. We've had lots of conversations.
We don't really see these people fundamentally as students. These are amazing men and women of God that come here. The relationship that we have is with brothers and sisters in Christ, with fellow laborers in the harvest, with people who are just as passionate as we are about knowing Christ and making him known.
