Some of the relationships that I've built here at CIU have just been really great friendships. First with my roommate-- I had never met my roommate before we moved in. And just getting to know her and her love for the Lord, immediately having that in common-- I've just become really great friends with the girls on my hall. And they've not just been surface-deep but really lifelong friendships.
Columbia International University has lots of things that help me and other students grow spiritually. Even in the classroom settings, I really enjoy the Christian worldview education we're getting here. We are not only getting the head knowledge, but we're also learning about Christ. We're also learning about the Bible.
I think that as far as spiritual growth, the prayer days and chapels have been a big part in just enriching my understanding of God. Initially when I was thinking about coming here, I was like, uh, I don't know about chapel four days a week. But now I love it. I wouldn't miss it for the world, honestly.
We have 3T, which is every third Thursday of the month. And we'll do these fun things like a bonfire at the Point. One of my favorite events here at CIU is definitely Sadie Hawkins. Every year in March, we have a field day sort of competition where you get teams of four together. And we all just go out on the practice fields, and we have a blast doing all sorts of games and stuff.
I really love our campus events. We had a hoedown in the fall, and that was a lot of fun. You didn't always know who your partner was, but you got to know them. And you got to know the people at CIU, even if you didn't have a class with them.
